Lowell-
Use Aminoethyl-8(TM) reagent from Pierce instead- p. 155 of current
catalog. Chemical name isN-[Iodoethyl]trifluoroacetamide. At pH 8.1-8.6,
the sulfhydryl group is aminoethylated and the trifluoroacetyl group
hydrolyzed in a simple, safe, one-pot reaction.
