unwanted messages

Dear Friends,

There have been several unwanted messages, not related to ABRF activities,
which have been received and distributed in the past week through our
mailing list system for the ABRF electronic discussion forum. This type of
activity has been fairly rare for our group, since subscribing and
unsubscribing activities are actually carried out by people, not computers.
The email addresses of origin are not on our mailing list. However, it is
possible that someone on our list has a second email address which is not
on our list, and which we cannot track.

If this kind of activity should increase, then we do have the alternative
of monitoring the incoming messages, and posting only those that related to
our interests and activities. This would cause a time delay in our
exchanges. We hope that we don't have to resort to this measure.

Just this morning our electronic membership sailed over 900 members. All
of us appreciate the thoughtful insights and expert advice freely and
generously given by all.

Thanks to all of you,
Ruth
