We have been using the PrizmPette and prizm strips since their
development. We find that the number of manual steps involved is much
reduced, no washing of the syringes between loads. The loading time for a
64 lane gel, loading odd lanes first, then even lanes, is 6 minutes in our
hands. My technicians like the ability to load using a regular one handed
pipette action, rather than the two handed hamilton technique, and there
are no parts to break. I must admit that we went straight to the Prizm
technique from using single tips without ever having used a Hamilton, but
I can't persuade my technicians to even try a Hamilton now! We're very
pleased with them.
