We had to increase the protease inhibitors in the extraction and load
buffers over what Pharmacia suggested in order to get high masses, but
otherwise we've had good luck with the pharmacia linear 4-10 strips. It
took some fiddling with to get it working well. The narrower pH ranges
seem to be more problematic. No experience with the combined IPG4 system,
as we already had most of the parts as individual components. We like
having the cooling system separate, as we use a vertical second dimension
and use it for cooling the second dimension
