Hello from Pasadena,
A few days ago I responded to a question re HPLC posted by Doug Lamont. I
warned against possible problems with ceramic pistons self destructing. I
should have knocked wood because just 2 days later the HPLC crashed from,
yes, another broken piston! Those of you who have similar pumps could help
me a lot if you would let me know if you've had similar experiences. I've
now replaced three pistons in as many years and am wondering if the problem
is just at my site. If it is, I think I need to replace the stainless steel
cylinder ($1,700) as it may have been misaligned during manufacturing.
Obviously, I would like to avoid this if it's not the problem. So, can any
of you relate similar anecdotal experiences?
Thanking you in advance.
