Since I received several private inquiries after my original posting I
thought I'd post the answer as well. At the suggestion of Ulf Hellman
(Ludwig Institute for Cancer Research, Uppsala, Sweden) I located the
program I was looking for. It is called "Molecular Fragment Calculator",
and it was written by James E. Deline (Windows version by Dwight L. Smith).
One place where it can be downloaded from is
