You better check your specs on the instrument, but I believe that
the detector volume is 3 microliter or greater. This is NOT good for 1 mm
columns. We are doing 1 mm chromatography with an HP 1100 detector with a
1 ul flow cell with good peak shape. The Michrom LC's have flow cells with
50 nanoliter or lower cell volumes. On a Michrom you have the peak
collected in a tube while it is still mixing in the cell of an ABI 120.
