Hi all,
I recall a very particular solvent system for RPC of hydrophobic samples:
Solvent A is 60 % formic acid in water
Solvent B is 60 % formic acid in acetonitrile
Run 0-100 % B in an appropriate time.
We were using this with Vydac C4 columns and could indeed elute some very
hydrophobic samples. Of course forget about low UV detection...
If I remember correctly, I got this from Werner Machleidt in the early
eighties.
