Diferent recovery of Arg in sequences

Dear all;
As always, I am looking for experience out there.
I am routinely control the first 15 AAs of a recombinant protein that has
Arg in position 4 and
position 10. It has a Cys in position 6 that normally is derivatized before,
with 4-vp. This protein has carbohydrates chains also, in several positions;
the closest, from the primary structure point of view, is in positon 36. In
the last runs, I observed that Arg 4 shows a very low recovery, much less
that I would expect and even less than Arg 10. I checked the sequence, on a
sample without derivatization of Cys but the situation is the same.
Does anybody have idea of a methodological reason of that?. Ssomething in
the protein itself that would explain that result?.
Thanks in advance for your suggestions.
