I do not want to change the name. I am very proud to run a "facility". I
help a number of investigators carry out experiments that they couldn't
possibly do without my help (or someone like me) and I help them do it at a
reasonable cost. I think by changing the name we are falling into a
political correctness trap. There should be a lot of pride in what we do.
If a fellow scientist should look down his or her nose at us when they hear
the word facility, we should look at that as a challenge to change their
opinion instead of bowing to their prejudice and changing our name.
Thanks for starting this discussion Lowell.
