I second Lowell and Lisa opinion regarding not changing the ABRF
name. I think that this change ultimately will lead to change in the
scope and direction of this society and, probably, in the long run
will lead to merging with one of the other
biochemical/analytical societies. The drop of interest to issues
related to running core facilities was already clearly seen by very
low attendance of sessions related to specific core lab issues during
the last meeting in San Diego. However, I'm afraid that following
changes in the voting bylaw, the change in the ABRF name is
inevitable.
Regarding 4 year term, I think that 3 years is more than enough. In
most other societies the serving term is 2 years.
Thanks,
