FISH stands for Fluorescence In-Situ Hybridization. Fluorescently labeled
probes are used directly in the sample such as a tissue slice or other
in-situ sample. PNA probes are sometimes used in FISH since hybridizations
can be done under much less stringent conditions than with standard Nucleic
Acid probes. I can provide you a bibliography of FISH done with PNA if you
wish. PNA probes can be obtained from a number of sources including
PerSeptive Biosystems , Research Genetics and some Core Facititiesor anyone
that has an 8909 DNA Synthesizer. You can make PNA's yourself manually if
you wish, I would be happy to provide you with protocols and product info.
