We had a problem a few months back with dirty plates, and were reluctant
to strip with NaOH. We were unable to pour gels without a number of
bubbles.first tried an acid wash,
which helped some. We then found that soaking the plates occasionally in
CONTRAD from Fisher Scientific( a pipet cleaning solution which replaces
Nochromix) was helpful, as well as washing with Terg-a-Zyme(from VWR)
along with the alconox each time we clean the plates. We have not had any
problems since. I hope this helps.
