The Protein Sciences Facility as part of the Biotechnology Center at the
University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign has an opening for a RESEARCH
SPECIALIST in chemistry:
Qualifications:
Master's degree in chemistry, biochemistry or related natural science or
the equivalent combination of education and laboratory experience. A
minimum of a Bachelor's degree and one year with laboratory experience in
synthetic chemistry and/or protein chemistry is strongly preferred.
Responsibilities:
Peptide synthesis and protein analysis services. The major duties
associated with this position comprise the operation of automated peptide
synthesizers, HPLC's, an automated protein sequencer and gel
electrophoresis. Experience with these techniques is desired. The Research
Specialist will perform experiments, organize and document data and analyze
the results. Excellent communication and computer skills are necessary in
addition to the ability to multitask and work independently.
Type of Position and Salary:
Full time, 12 months regular academic professional position. Salary is
commensurate with experience.
