I just want to confirm the message from Mary Kay. We had a similar
experience: our G3 came with OS8.1, which could not be taken down to 8.0,
and SA3.2 was installed on these with OS8.1. The system crashes when trying
to autoanalyze, either at the start or after finishing tracking but usually
before extraction. I also added 64M RAM to the existing 32M, and that has
not helped. In both cases we had virtual memory on. Tomorrow we will run
them with virtual memory off.
It sure would be nice to have the gels ready to print when you walk in in
the morning. In the one case when the system finished everything, and we
just had to change stop points on PCR products, and files were ready for
printing withing 10 minutes. So hopefully we can find a way of making this
work, or ABI will make SA3.2 compatible with OS8.1.
I will post more info as we try different configurations.
