I use the non slip rug underlay available from any carpet/rug store.

It is really odd looking made of thousands of small rubber beads linked
together, however it is very cheap and works much much better than the
rubber shower mats we used to used . Easy to cut to size and you can cover
large areas with it, I recomend doubling it over however.
