JobOpen: Scientist Process Development
FibroGen, a privately held biotechnology company located in South San Francisco,
uses its expertise in extracellular matrix biology to discover and develop
innovative treatments for fibroproliferative disorders, such as deep organ
fibrosis and complications arising from surgical scarring, as well as therapeutics
related to tissue repair and regeneration. FibroGen is also the world leader in
the development and production of human recombinant collagen and recombinant
gelatin for use in the medical device, pharmaceutical and fine chemical markets.
Our success has resulted in the following opportunity:

SCIENTIST

Our Collagen Process Development team is focused on the development of
downstream processes for cGMP manufacture of recombinant human collagen.
Currently we are seeking a Ph.D. with 2 years postdoctoral experience in protein
purification to help us develop cGMP compliant, scalable manufacturing method.

Experience with current protein chemical methods for isolation and characterization
of proteins from natural and recombinant sources is a must. Ability to develop
in-process tests and raw material specifications is highly desired. Experience
with proteases from microbes and plants is a plus.
