My experience with Lys-C is a little different from Ulf's. With 0.1-0.2
ug of Boehringer-Mannheim Lys-C in Tris buffer for in-gel digestion,
there is consistently a large fragment at about 4848 and the 2+ ion at
2474; that's about all I see.
As an aside, I've been seeing Lys-Pro cleavage with this enzyme, giving
rise to some unexpected fragments.
