PTC AAA

Does anyone know of a source of PTC-labelled amino acids? All I can find are
unlabelled AAs that have to be derivatized with PITC before injecting on the
HPLC. I have an ABI 421 Amino Acid analyzer that does automated
derivatization on the frits. For troubleshooting purposes, I'd like to have
pre-labelled PTC-AAs (similar to the PTH-labelled AAs used as standards for
Edman sequencing) that I could inject directly onto the HPLC and bypass the
derivatizer unit. I know I can manually derivatize unlabelled amino acids,
but I wanted to minimize additional processing steps, if possible.

Thanks in advance

Weather inconsequential: I don't know about gophers, but on the free-range
gerbil front, we had a most unfortunate interaction this morning between our
dog and one of my son's gerbils that had accidentally gotten loose a few days
ago during cage cleaning activities. Suffice it to say that the gerbil
lost. My older son returns from vacation tomorrow to discover that, in his
absence, mom (who was charged with animal maintenance responsibilities)
managed to allow the demise of one large gourami (his favorite fish, of
course), two fiddler crabs, one green newt, and now his favorite gerbil - you
know, the one with the distinctive markings that prevents it from being
surreptitiously replaced by a new gerbil before tomorrow...
