Both (DG)100 and (EG)100 are exellent models for studying D/E-associated
side reactions (:-)), but from the practical viewpoint the best choice
seems to be (GEG)100 = (EGG)100.
Synthesise in solution protected tripeptide GEG building block and treat
it either like ordinary Fmoc/Boc amino acid in synthesizer (100x1 or 10x10
- it doesn't matter much since you need approx. 100 repeats) or venture
polymerization of deprotected BocGE(cHex)G-active ester.
Although no solubility/aggregation problems could arise with your Gly-rich
oligomers, I would recommend 100x1GEG blockwise SPPS.
All other approaches will yield a lot of either pGlu-terminated or
aspartimid/beta-Asp -containing
by-products.
