Trypic digests on PVDF

Has anyone ever attempted to "re-digest" a sample on PVDF that has been
previously reduced, alkylated and trypsin digested? I have experienced a
failure
of 3 different samples to yield any peptides but upon re-testing of the
trypsin found
the enzyme to be active. I still have the original PVDF pieces from the 3
samples in their original reaction tubes sitting on my lab bench.
I know this may be asking for a "Lazarus technique" but I am willing to
try it.
Thanks in advance.
