Dear Deanna
Dear ABRFers

Mike Brasseur's match perfectly our observations: PEEK gets to be brittle
in relatively short time when used for lines that carry organic solvents,
i.e., ACN, under high pressures as encountered in HPLC systems.

Of course PEEK is very easy to use -- easy to cut, flexible etc. So a lot
of people still want to use it -- it's possible but we recommend to
change the tubing like every two weeks. Just to be safe.

PEEK systems are generally used with ion exchange systems or systems with
electrochemical detection, just for the purpose of preventing metal ions
which might generate noise in the detector.

For most of our RP HPLC applications SS systems are still the more rugged
way to go.

Best regards: Jean-Pierre
