I think you will have difficulty finding a way to scan at 215 nm. At 215
nm, peptide (amide) bonds are detected. However polyacrylAMIDE also
contains amide bonds, at a concentration probably >1000-fold in excess of
your proteins, which will mask the proteins. Some buffer components will
probably absorb, too. Hence Coomassie blue, silver stains, etc.
