Hi, all,
We are firing up our Beckman 506 autosampler (actually a Spectra Physics
SP8780XR) and finally after many happy years am having a problem. When we
try to set up a series of injections, the sample is taken up into the
tower--and then we wait. No take up of the sample into the loop (no
movement of the syringe) and no subsequent injection. Manually we can
toggle between fill and inject modes--the inject "sound" goes then. We
can flush the system, so the mechanism that moves the syringe is working.

We suspect that one of the (is it called) e-proms that gives the
programming for the routine of loading the loop and injecting has been
"destroyed". Has anyone seen this problem before? Know of a good
technical support person to talk to about the 506?

Thanks for any help, Deb
