Institute for Biotechnology (VIB) is an autonomous research institute,
established in 1995, that pools the strengths of 700 top level
scientists and technicians. VIB has the intention to provide cutting
edge research tools to its researchers. Therefore a central service
unit dealing with advanced biochip technologies will be set up. To
start up, lead and develop this unit we are seeking a

</fontfamily><fontfamily><param>Geneva</param>As a senior scientist you
will be leading a small team of scientists and technicians and take on
responsibility for all operational, managerial and financial aspects of
the setting up and running of the microarray facility: resourcing,
drawing up initial layout and business plan, budgeting and outlining
the protocols, controlling and optimising the technology, evaluating
and mastering the quality of data, and optimising reporting and
servicing to our scientists in a cost effective way. A talent for
planning and previous management experience, or strong potential for
management, will enable you to coach your team to meet tight deadlines
in a fast moving technological environment.

should have a proven track research record in molecular biology
research, bioengineering or biotechnology. In addition the manager
should have a strong feeling for technological innovations, automation
and data management. Previous experience with microarray technology or
the management of a core facility in a scientific or industrial
environment would be an additional asset. Strong and efficient
communicationskills will enable you to motivate and build your team in
a professional way.
