Dear Colleagues,
Thanks for your comments about the high sensitivity of India ink
staining. The proteins samples that I received for sequencing were of
bacterial origin (from Neisseria) and thus should have a somewhat better
chance than eukaryotic proteins of not being blocked initially. I suspect
that my problem is simply insufficient protein, since my 10 year old
sequencer is not very good in the low picomole range.
