The recent discussion on the bulletin board concerning the value of amino
acid analysis (AAA) showed that this technique is still alive although the
number of laboratories offering AAA collaborations seems to decrease.
During the last decade the AAA committee of the ABRF has performed a number
of AAA studies that allowed the participants to compare their performance
in AAA with other laboratories. Over these years a number of ABRF members
have invested their time to make these studies a valuable source of
information. During the last year, however, the AAA committee has shrunk
drastically and with the current number of members additional AAA studies
can not be carried out anymore. Thus, we are desperately searching for at
least four colleagues who are interested in AAA and who are willing to
share their experience by joining the ABRF AAA Research Committee.
