Protein Chemist / Purification Specialist
Position No. / 98

The Ludwig Institute for Cancer Research has established a GMP production
facility at the Austin Hospital in Melbourne to supply reagents for its t=
umour
targeting and tumour vaccine research programs. These programs focus on
different aspects of the immune response and clinical trials are underwa=
y
using either monoclonal antibodies or synthetic peptides in protocols des=
igned
to improve cancer therapy.=20

An experienced Protein Chemist is required for the large-scale purificati=
on of
monoclonal antibodies and recombinant proteins for Phase I/II clinical tr=
ials.
The appointee will also be expected to ensure that the in-process testing=
of
each product is correctly performed and documented to GMP standards.

The successful candidate will have had several years=92 experience in
purification method development and the chromatographic purification of
biomolecules, preferably under GLP or GMP conditions. Familiarity with a
Biopilot Chromatography System and Unicorn software is desirable.=20

Salary will be negotiated according to experience and qualifications and =
the
position will be for three years in the first instance. The appointee wil=
l be
eligible for superannuation after completion of a six month probationary =
term.=20
