One of our investigators would like to determine the amount of zinc
bound to his protein. The protein is known to have a binding site for zinc
but it is not known whether the site is occupied in the preparation he is
using for his experiments. I know of several techniques which can be used to
determine the zinc content i.e. Atomic Absorption, X-ray fluorescence,
ICP-MS. None of these techniques is available here. Does anyone know of a
lab or commercial service that can perform these measurements on a fee per
service basis? What is the best method for this measurement?
