There have been several reports on this.
Try reading:
Morand, K., Talbo, G., Mann, M. (1993). Oxidation of peptides during elctrospray ionization. Rapid Commun. Mass Spectrom. 7, 738-743.
A paper on selective 'in source' oxidation. Happens for Met, but also seen for Trp and Tyr.
