I would advise caution over interpreting results from samples with
carbohydrate tar. We have certainly seen both reduced recovery and
selective amino acid loss from such samples. If the sample cannot be
cleaned up, then I would strongly advise running a standard protein,
hydrolysed from the same buffer, and assess recovery of the amino acids vs
expected values.
