I was requested to summarize the responses to my request for information on vinylpyridine, so here goes:
Deanna: The reagent should be vacuum distilled and stored under argon or
nitrogen in the freezer. It should be water clear and will last for several
weeks in my hands. I know of no really clean source, but I havenot looked

Deanna: Try the bulk division of Sigma-Aldrich. They can make almost
anything; don't be put-off by the "quality" in the catalog. They also do alot
of custom contract-cGMP manufacturing. I think their number is still 800
