Just wanted to thank all who responded to my "call for help". Most
responses were sent directly to me (by-passing the bulletin board) and
included a wide array of input. All suggestions offered have been tried
except switching to another product.
I feel obligated to note responses ranged from folks saying "never had this
problem, our sympathies are with you", to "I know what you're talking about,
we've been struggling with this for some time too". My prior experience on
other ABi sequencers (~10yrs) was that guard columns were never a problem.
A while back Applied Biosystems informed me of the change in guard column
diameter. But I was told this problem was resolved. My experience has
indicated otherwise. I will credit Applied Biosystems with a speedy
response, as I received a call yesterday (Wed). I informed them that I
received information from others (those by-passing the bulletin board)
experiencing the same symptoms and they seem genuinely concerned. So my
advice to others having similar problems is, please, communicate your
experiences to Applied Biosystems (if you haven't already). This can only
help all parties involved. Again, thank you for your help!
Most Sincerely,
-Margie
