PEG resin

I have a question for those of you who use PEG resins for peptide or PNA
synthesis. When tagging a synthetic peptide with rhodamine before
cleavage from the PEG resin, I seem to notice the resin itself soaks up a
lot of rhodamine. I am using a tetramethyl Rhodamine, succinimidyl ester
for tagging. I have used the same rhodamine on Rink and Wang resins with
much less being soaked up by the resin itself. I'm curious to see if
anyone else has seen this problem. I have devised a way of avoiding this
with cheaper rhodamine (the succinimidyl ester seems very expensive from
Molecular Probes--$60 per synthesis). If anyone has a cheaper rhodamine
succinimidyl ester they are using please let me know where to buy it also.
Thanks to all and HAPPY NEW YEAR!
