An extensive listing of Venture Capital Companies can be found in the
1998 GEN Guide to Biotechnology Companies. Guaranteed loans and some very
limited grants can be obtained through the Small Business Administration.

For other financing ideas, you should read chapter 2 of "How to Run a
Small Business" by the J. K. Lasser Institute (ISBN 0-07-036576-8). The ideal
source of funding has a lot to do with whether you plan to start a Mom-and-Pop
or Amgen type business or something in between.

Does anyone have information regarding grants or funding sources for
people, particularly women, who are interested in starting a small business
(biotech)?
