Dear ABRFers, I would like to add some information from my experience here at the Weizmann, regarding the availability of these columns. Ower concern was not so much with the delay due to prolonged back order but mainly because the longivity of the columns . They last for about 500 cycles ,then there is a sudden drop in the resolution. In the past ,before the merger took place, we had columns which gave us 4000-5000 cycles .Those were the ABI days. I never heard then of "six months storage periods".I had stocks of more than a year old shelf life columns that worked perfectly. I am considering seriously to swich to a different brand . I wish PE . reconsiders it's attitude to the QC & GMP. Natan Tal Protein Sequencing Unit, Dep.of Biological Services !
