TMA leak solved

Wow! What a terrific response I have received concerning my post about the
leaky acid traps on my sequencers. Also some shared experience which
confirms my suspicion that it could be the cause of a nagging cough which
has plagued me for almost 2 years.
After sifting through all of the advice and suggestions, it seems that it
would be better for me to stick with TMA because both of my instruments are
older vintages (a 470 and a 473) and several people reported unresolvable
problems with the NMP on older instruments.
I had tried silicone calking several times before but couldn't get it to
stick to the plastic lid of the acid trap. Several people suggested
silicone stopcock grease so I gooped generously last night before going
home....this morning there was a noticeable improvement.
My nose thanks you, my lungs thank you and my friends thank you.
Cheers,
