I would like to forward excerpts from a message sent earlier today to
American Peptide Society members, because I know there is a great deal of
overlap in research interests, and many of you may find our meeting to be
professionally and personally rewarding.
Best wishes,
GB
We are gratified to report the high level of interest in the 16th American
Peptide Symposium, which will be held in Minneapolis from June 26-July 1,
1999. We are still processing the many abstracts that came in for the
originally announced January 31, 1999 deadline, and have extended the
abstract deadline to February 28, 1999. The Program Committee will meet
in March to select speakers and accept poster presentations, and
notification of presenting authors will occur in April. We hope that you
will continue to consider submitting your best work to the Symposium.
The next important date which is fast approaching is March 1, 1999, the
deadline for registration at discounted fees. With this reminder, we hope
to receive your registrations very soon. Please discuss the Society with
your co-workers and professional colleagues, as some may have
inadvertently allowed their memberships to lapse. The American Peptide
Society is pleased to consider applications for new or renewed membership
in an expeditious fashion, and membership applications submitted by March
1 suffice to allow the reduced fees to apply.
All of this information, and more, is at our web site at
www.chem.umn.edu/16aps, which is updated frequently and is set up to
accept both abstracts and registrations electronically. Please bookmark
this site, and go to "New Developments" to direct you further to the
latest news. Also, there is a link to the Society web site at
http://www.chem.umn.edu/orgs/ampepsoc/, which is one click away from
on-line joining the Society. A further way to communicate with us is via
the Symposium "hotlines": e-mail 16aps@chem.umn.edu and phone
1-612-624-7505.
Thanks for your consideration in reading this. We very much look forward
to welcoming you in early summer in Minneapolis!
Best wishes,
GB and GF
