from a limited experimental data set (n=1 peptide) I was surprised to
observe that stearoylation of a 15 residue phosphopeptide on resin with
stearoyl chloride only increased reversed phase retention time by a few
minutes for a mid-gradient eluting species. I was actually hoping for
something that would elute out in the 50-60% acetonitrile region and thus
was disappointed with the result. The success of the modification was
confirmed by MS. Peptide recovery matched the non-modified species.
