Dear colleagues,

Does anyone have any experience in, or extra references to, the procedure
for "on resin" Trp(CHO) deformylation with piperidine? I would like to hear
comments on the reliability of this procedure and the optimum reaction
conditions.
Novabiochem 97/98 catalog recommends 10% piperidine, 2 hours at 0 in DMF
(no references are given).
The only related paper I know is the one of Merrifield et al [J. Pept. Res.
1997, 49(1), 59-66] where 50% piperidine/DMF at room temperature (twice for
1 min) was used to effect peptide-resin deformylation (no comments are
given).

Thanks in advance
Igor
