You are not alone. I have a 430A peptide synthesizer, which, at the
moment, has problems. Our service rep is also excellent, but right now
he is shuttling between our lab, an NCI lab with another sick 430A, and
a lab in Frederick, MD with a sick 433. He is ordering parts for my
machine, which means another time lag. Sooo, I've gotten out my old
shaker, attached a glass synthesis vessel, and am now synthesizing a
peptide, *manually*. I would have thought that the DNA machines would
have a higher priority than the peptide synthesizers, but maybe this is
a company-wide problem they need to work on.
