I have recently been asked by the Executive Board(EB) of the ABRF to
head up
the Membership Committee for 1999.
The primary goal for this committee in 1999 is to reinvent itself, in a
creative and exciting way. Our secondary goals, defining and serving
the WHOLE membership of the ABRF can only be accomplished within the
context of this primary goal.
Are you interested in working with a dynamic group of people to study
such
important issues as:
1) Who joins the ABRF.
2) Where and when do they join.
3) Who chooses to renew their membership and why.
4) Most importantly, member services. What should we be doing for
members? What do they want/ask for? Are they satisfied?
5) How much should we recruit? How big should we get? What
areas/technologies should we promote/recruit? ?
Then let me know, that you would like to be considered for a spot on
this
committee. Send me a note expressing your interest along with a copy of
your
CV. All perspective members of any ABRF committee, must be approved by
the EB before starting their term of office.
I envision that we will meet monthly, by conference call. (Although,
since we will be "reinventing ourselves" we may choose another option.
Some
committees prefer to "meet" by email.)
The ABRF enriches all our lives in so many ways, I invite you to
consider giving
a small portion of your time and energy to make it an even better
organization.
Thank you in advance for your thoughtful consideration of this request.
I would be glad to talk to anyone interested at the meeting this weekend
-- See you there !
Sincerely,
Rebecca P. Ettling
