Dear terry, I normally use 1% DBU/1% piperidine for removal of Fmoc. I found
it a more powerful of 20% Piperidine. This is especially useful in difficult
sequence since you get a faster deprotection.

This said, I had two observation:
1) I use a flow synthesized, not a batch, the risk with a batch is that the
fmoc leaving the resin, that normally react with piperidine, do not react with
DBU, and you may have side reaction with your peptide (that the reason of the
1% Piperidine in my system).

2) Do not, do not use it with ASP(I use Fmoc-D(otBu) , it will lead to a
dehydration with lost of 18 Da from your peptide.

I had a poster at the 15 APS with some comparison between DBU and Piperidine.

N.B. it has been finally published, thank you Professor TAM!!!
