We've found that decreasing the time between loadings (we use 3 min) helps
somewhat but I think that a more important consideration is making sure
your buffer TBE and the gel TBE are identical formulations. This tends to
creep in when you purchase a premix acrylamide solution from one vendor
and then either make your own running buffer or purchase buffer from a
different vendor. We now buy buffer and gel premix from the same vendor
and we're very pleased with the increase in resolution.
