Howdy folks -

Does anyone have any suggestions OR references for performing acid hydroysis
and amino acid analysis on proteins isolated in polyacrylamide gels? I've
heard that people sometimes extract the protein, then perform the hydrolysis
and analysis as usual, but I've also heard that it's possible to hydrolyze
the protein while it is still in the gel slice. Does anyone have direct
experience with this, what happens to gel during the hydrolysis, any
precautions necessary in cleaning up the sample, derivatizing, and analysis?
