We are interested in purchasing an ion-trap instrument for protein/peptide
work, and we are comparing the Finnigan LCQ Decca/Protana nanospray source
with the Bruker Esquire/Bruker nanospray source. Each is quoted with an
LC. We do not have any experience with ion-trap MS (we have a Finnigan
MAT 90 magnetic sector FAB-MS), and we would appreciate any feedback on the
pros and cons of these two instruments. The LCQ Decca may be too new for
feedback, but comments regarding what is now the LCQ Classic and the
anticipated performance of the Decca would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Latif Kazim
