Hi all,

While you're thinking of Amanda's question, I'll ask another. Has anyone
sequenced through fluorescently labelled proteins? A researcher asked me about
identifying a possibly unique free thiol that he modifies using a fluorescent
tag. I've asked him to find out if his label would to stable to the Edman
chemistry, but if you could suggest Cys modifying agents available with
fluorescent tags that might be suitable for an Edman experiment, I would
appreciate it.

A related question is, how many of you have used the 494's ATZ cycles with an
attached fraction collector? Since we retired the 470, I've not yet had requests
to find a labelled amino acid. What fraction collector do you find convenient?

Linda

could all be in N.Y. to share it with me.
