We've just purchased a PE7700 real time PCR instrument from Perkin =
Elmer. We are having some trouble with it. We'd like to know whether =
anyone else out there has encountered similar problem, or discovered a =
solution. Here is the situation as described by my collegue in charge =
of PE7700:

Have any users of the PE7700 (TaqMan) had intermittent problems with a=20
decrease of signal in some wells. When the multicomponent plot is=20
viewed for these wells, there is a profound decrease in the=20
fluorescensse signal for all dyes (including the internal=20
reference). It appears to be hardware related. PE does not have an =
answer, and does not know what is=20
wrong with the instrument.

Anybody else have this problem?
