Hi Jeff
Hi ABRFers

Besides using reverse phase sorbents for the retention of SDS which is
not too successful, several vendors including us offer small pre-columns
for capillary or micro LC packed with a special sorbent for the removal
of detergents like SDS.

A paper pertaining to the issues of ionic detergent removal:

Kramers
Automated On-line Ionic Detergent Removal from Minute Protein/Peptide
Samples Prior to Liquid Chromatography-Electrospray Mass Spectrometry

If you have no access to this paper, you can e-mail me directly for a
reprint.

Best regards:

Jean-Pierre
