The Imation Super Disk Drive I bought to transfer data to floppies does not
work consistently. It comes with the disclaimer that it will not work on
800 K disks. Well it doesn't work on others as well. In fact the Imation
disk sold as 2MB is not really 2MB, it is only 1.44. Save your money -- you
aren't getting more memory. Imation scratched their heads over this and
admitted that they should not be labeled 2MB and that the distributor
labeled them thus (????).
The Epson 740 printer works very nicely with the G3 and was only $228,
although one researcher compalined that the blue and green looked too
similar and I have not been able to change this even with help of our PE
specialist.
The 8.5.1 operating system that mine came with has lots of bugs. And you
have to purchase new Noton Utilities and Virus software if you like to have
these on your computer. The old ones are not compatible.
I have not upgraded to the 8.6 because I haven't read all of the fine print
about what I will have to reinstall etc.
I an not even imagine hooking up the 377 to it.
One thing I am considering is buying more RAM. I know that "once upon a
time" they sold the 377 and the 7200 with 8MB of RAM. I upped it to 32 MB
in a hurry. They never sell the MACs with enough RAM to do anything with
so this may help as well.
I would like to know if it works. I would like to be able to use the G3 as
a backup.
